Asiana Airlines is one of the best airlines in Asia. (You don't have to worry about not getting friendly service.) Well, here's a website if you haven't been there yet: http://us.flyasiana.com/Global/US/en/index

Seoul, the capital of S. Korea, is a wonderful modernized city. There is more information to help you out here: http://www.asianinfo.org/asianinfo/seoul/seoul.htm

Plus more info about Asiana Airlines at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asiana_Airlines

Hope these sites help you because they can give you more information - gl. [;

Asiana is a great airline. The stewardesses are kind and you'll get much better service than on an american airline. You'll also notice better service if you stay at a hotel in or around Seoul. If you get a chance take a look around.

I traveled back and forth between Seoul and LA quite a bit.

Well I've rode on Asiana Airlines. They serve American and Asian food. The stewardesses all speak English and when I traveled, they were all either Chinese, Korean or Japanese.

It was a good flight, nothing truly special, but nothing was bad. I personally enjoyed it.

Well, I'm Korean, so I guess I know a lot about Seoul. It won't be bad at all. Most signs are in both Korean and English there. Since everyone learns English in Korea, I don't think it'll be too hard communicating outside the airport. It has city parts and living parts, a bit like New York City. In Korea, I've noticed the people are more hospitable than America by far. They provide more service and respect.

Asiana Airlines is a member of Star Alliance. I just flew between Seoul and Ulsan and back (short hops, I know) and the flights were fine. Clean, reasonably new aircraft and attentive and pleasant flight attendants. If you're used to flying US-based airlines you'll think you're in first class!

If you have to overnight in Seoul, and you presumably have no Korean (?), you might try staying in Itaewon. (Hamilton Hotel, Capital Hotel are OK). It's the R&R area for the US forces HQ in Korea, and so pretty much everyone (shops/bars/restaurants) speaks some English, and there's plenty of Kimchi-free food available. There's something of a street market there as well,so you can spend time just wandering up and down the road.

Both the hotels I mention are served by "limousine" buses from (and back to) Incheon airport. Cost about Won 13,000 (say AU$20). Takes about an hour.

Incidentally, you'll find Korean people are extremely friendly, helfpul and polite.

There are definitely worst places for a stopover.

Asiana Airlines is the best Asian airline IMHO. Great service, and innovative as well. You'll discover this on your own, enjoy!

What's not to like about Seoul? One of the nicest cities to visit; no shortage of historical, touristy. shopping, and fun places in one of my favorite cities to spend time in. The language barrier is there but it's not as bad as here in Japan. Go with an open mind and it'll remember every wonderful moment you spend in Seoul, South Korea.

Asiana Airline is one of the finest airlines in Asia.

The flight attendants are young and pretty with nice bodyshape because Koreans are generally obsessed with appearance.

(They never hire someone who is old and chubby!)

Their services are great as well. So, no worries about your flying!

Plus, Seoul is perfectly safe and a fascinating city.

I'm pretty sure Seoul is safer than Sydney or Toronto.

The crime rate is very low compared with other big cities in the world. (You can see a woman walking down the street alone after midnight!)

Asiana Airlines (아시아나 항공 Asiana Hanggong KOSDAQ: 020560) (Formerly Seoul Airlines) is an airline based in Seoul, South Korea and is one of South Korea's two major airlines, along with Korean Air.

Asiana is a member of the Star Alliance and operates services to 12 domestic destinations and 73 international destinations in 17 countries worldwide.

Asiana's headquarters and overseas hub is located at Incheon International Airport (near Seoul) and its domestic hub is at Gimpo International Airport.

Asiana was established on 17 February 1988 and started operations in December 1988 with flights to Busan. It was formed by the Kumho Asiana Group (formerly Kumho Group) as part of the South Korean government's policy to create a second flag carrier and was originally known as Seoul Air International. The South Korean government has given its approval for foreign ownership of the airline to increase from 20% to 50%. The airline is owned by private investors (30.53%), Kumho Industrial (29.51%), Kumho Petrochemical (15.05%), foreign investors (11.9%), Korea Development Bank (7.18%), others (5.83%) and employs 7,799 staff (at March 2007).

In February 2006 Asiana Airlines modernised its Corporate Identity to harmonise with those of other divisions of its parent company the Kumho Asiana Group. The names of the travel classes have changed from First Class, Business Class, and Economy Class to First, Business, and Travel classes respectively, and the colors of the travel classes have changed to yellow, blue and red for First, Business, and Travel Class, respectively. New uniforms are also planned for the crew.[2]

On 18 April 2007 Asiana was awarded a 5-star rating by Skytrax, an accolade shared only with Cathay Pacific, Malaysia Airlines, Qatar Airways and Singapore Airlines

.

Got extra time, look at the airport website, they have organised tours to and from the city.

ANY AIRLINE IS ONLY AS GOOD AS IT,S SERVICING SCHEDULES AND MAINTENANCE WORKERS PROFFESSIONALLISM.THE AGE AND BUILD QUALLITY OF THE AIRCRAFT ARE ALSO A FACTOR.ANYTHING ELSE,LIKE THE SMILE ON IT,S FACE INVOLVES "POT LUCK".
