Absolutely not, South Korea is considered to be a developed or fully industrialized country. Although there are no conventional standards which are used to measure under-developed, developing or developed countries, South Korea, by most all standards is considered fully developed. You'll find the same types of jobs there as you would in Western Europe and the U.S.. In a recent survery I read, South Koreans were considered to be the most technologically advanced people in the world as far as incorporating technology into their everday lives. Far from it. Korea has the 10th largest economy in the world.

Hyundai is one of the world's biggest car manufacturers.

LG and Samsung are among the leaders in electronics worldwide.

And South Korea is one of the most heavily Internet wired countries in the world. 60% of South Korean homes have high speed internet access. Online gaming has basically become the national pastime (You can make a lot of money as a professional Starcraft/Warcraft player there)

Approximately 90% of all Koreans own a cell phone.

There is no way I would describe South Korea as a third world country. There is too much damn technology being produced and sold here. Plus my definition of a third world country would have to include, lack of medical care for everyone, poor water and food sources, and poor economic structure and distribution of wealth. All of which I certainly don't thinks are a problem in Korea.

South Korea is an advanced country with big businesses and many wealthy people. It has one of the strongest economies in Asia (after Japan and China).

Just like any country, there are many occupations. Societies need different people to do different jobs.

South Korea is a fully developed country. Most of the imcome is generated through running their own businesses.

A majority of Koreans are self employed.

Hardly. Third world countries don't normally manufacture automobiles, of which Hyundai is one. North Korea, however, might be considered third world in a lot of respects. As an industrialized nation, the prevailing occupations are probably quite similar to the US, but they probably have more manufacturing than we do.

No. LG and Samsung, which produce most of American cell phones are famous entertprises of Korea.(And Samsung caught up Sony about two years ago) Moreover, Korea has one of the most developed IT industry. If you were serious with your question, you better learn about the world where you live in. Modern Asia is totally different from what you know.

No it is a developing first world country... so that means they are still second.

A lot of them are businessmen/women and farmers. Korea is doing a lot of automotive, ship, and electronics work. They are doing really well for such a small country.

Basically they have any jobs we would here in the states.
