New to Korean Drama! Which of the following dramas is best?

Hi! I found some Korean dramas on Netflix and I'm excited to begin watching them for the first time. They seem so interesting and charming.

I'm not sure which one I should start with or which is best. What do you think of the following and which should I choose?

--Boys Over Flowers (I began watching the beginnings of this one and it seems pretty interesting)
--City Hunter
--playful kiss
--Secret Garden
--You Are Beautiful
--To the Beautiful You
--The Great Doctor
--A Gentleman's Dignity

Here's the order I recommend them in:

--Boys Over Flowers (this is a huge gateway drama for people who have never heard/seen kdramas before)

--City Hunter (action drama, a fan favorite, and has the same male lead as BOF)

--You Are Beautiful (if you like this one then check out Heartstrings afterwords)

--playful kiss (some people say this one is boring and annoying but I found it cute)

--Secret Garden (the lead couple switches bodies and its adorable)

--To the Beautiful You (both of these leads are in famous bands, cute drama)

--The Great Doctor (Just a heads up, this is a historical drama. Also with the same lead as BOF)

--A Gentleman's Dignity (I've never seen this one)



Also, www.dramafever.com and www.viki.com are great places to watch kdramas for free (with ads). So, once you're done with all the netflix ones, which will take you less time than you think, try heading over to these websites. Dramafever even has a collection dedicated to where newbies should start.

You're Beautiful is on Netflix??? AHHHH!!!



BOF is my favorite. The acting is amazing. City Hunter has the same actor that plays Gu Jun Pyo (Lee Minho) And I think he's an amazing actor, not just a pretty face)



Secret Garden is VERY popular, though I have not seen it. The guy and girl switch bodies, if that sounds interesting to you, then watch it



Playful Kiss is really good, but I wouldn't say it's one of the best. If you like Kim Hyun Joong (Ji Hoo from BOF) then know, that he is the male lead, but his character is a lot colder. I own this drama, but KHJ is being investigated for domestic abuse and I'm not his biggest fan right now (prepare for the thumbs downs)



You're BeaUtiful is one fo my top favorites, rivaling BOF. I didn't think I would like it, but it's amazing! Park Shin Hye is a very popular actress right now, and she plays the female, disguising herself as her brother. The male lead is played by Jang Keun Suk, and unlike most gender bender dramas, he finds out early on that she is a girl and keeps her secret. He's an amazing actor!!! (side note: I don't think it's on Netflix, but his other drama "Mary Stayed Out All Night" is another must see)



The others I have not seen, I'm sorry. But out of the ones I have seen, I recommend BOF and You're Beautiful. If you need more recommendations, message me anytime.

well,city hunter is really good...but i suggest you watching "love rain" if you've not watched it yet

I suggest you to watch Boys Over Flowers first. It is also the first Korean drama that i watched. And that is where i started to like Kpop hehe. And then i would to recommend you to watch:



-You Who Came From The Stars (Kim Soo Hyun is the male lead)

-Sungkyunkwan Scandal(The first few episodes were boring, but when it gets to the middle its very good trust me. Although when i first watched it i nearly gave up bc i didnt understand a thing but now it's been my favourite Kdrama so far)

-Emergency Couple

-The Master's Sun



If you're looking for just a short movie; a movie as in no episodes, then i suggest watching A Werewolf Boy(Song Joongki is the male lead) and also Secretly Greatly(Kim Soo Hyun is the male lead).



Oh and a if you want something similar like Boys Over Flower then you can try;
