Well I am not Korean and actually knew nothing about Korea until randomly one day I put on my t.v and I began watching a drama which I found out was Shining Inheritance. I was hooked from then on and since last year till now I have watched around 21 korean dramas. I love the dramas and yes I am obsessed. I just love them they are much better than American shows. I am from the Caribbean btw. It is the first time I have heard of the term 'koreaboo' and just looked it up. I find korean culture and stuff really nice. I may be a koreaboo to some extent and I want to learn Korean. I would like to visit someday.

I think this has expanded my horizons about the Asian world since I knew nothing before and had no interest. I think you should be happy that your culture is appreciated so much. I am of Indian descent btw.

I have never dabbled much into Kpop but I have heard a few and they sound good. The thing about the culture is that it is so pure and innocent and just cute. I personally go crazy for cuteness and my upbringing is reserved so I can relate a lot to what I suppose Korean people are like. I am sorry if you don't like me appreciating your culture but it is so addictive.

I know I may get some thumbs down for this but that is okay.

Basically it is while you are obsessive about Korea, they see best the confident facets. Like, they would forget about the suicide premiums, probably how tough it's to be a KPop idol. Idols do not know what sleep is, but they need to seem best for digital camera. Also wishing that they had been Korean. Trying to comply with Korean traits, studying language, in need of to transport to Korea simply to satisfy their idols. There you will have it.

I think its cool when people take in interest in foreign culture, but there is a point where some people just take it way too far and piss you off...for example, when people are into Japanese stuff, but then they start literally wanting to be a Japanese person, but not a real Japanese person, just what they think one would be like. For example, those people who are obsessed with anime and want to be an anime character or something. Or the ones who pretend to know the language when they don't. Those types of people would annoy the crap out of me, and I'm sorry if you know people like that.

I'm white (Russian), but I'm really into foreign languages, cultures, food (=p), and so on. However, I've never taken it to the obsessive level; unless of course you consider wanting to learn the language or vacation there to be obsessive.

Personally, I would be flattered if people were into Russian culture. If someone wanted to learn our language, or learn to cook our food, or was into our music and tv shows, I would help them expand their interests and learn even more. I wish more people were as receptive to having others be interested in their culture. Frankly, I'd just be flattered if someone here in the States had something favorable to say about Russia or Russians at all, as opposed to just calling us all "communist, KGB, alcoholics." (-_-")

You have no idea how luck you are that people have something positive to say about your culture and people, as opposed to being rude and negatively stereotyping you. Please be grateful about it instead of thinking everyone that's into Korean stuff is a weirdo.

One of my good friends who lives in my building is from Seoul, and she's incredibly annoyed by koreaboos. As a Japanese, I'm also annoyed by weeaboos. We seem to share the same perspective. We get excited when people are into our culture, but once you start taking it to certain extremes, you need to piss off.

Weeaboos/Koreaboos are annoying. I cosplay like.. once a year... and I'm addicted to Asian things, but when I see these ugly chicks who try to look hot in lolita clothing or pull off Korean hairstyles... seriously, get a life.
