Hello, I m 21, and I love Korea, and I always wanted to live in Korea, so I was thinking of becoming a flight attendant for Korean Air, but I m not Korean (I m African-American.) and I m a male, I m VERY fluent in the Korean language, I m on a native level. So does Korean Air accept Male flight attendants, who are not Korean?

Korean Air and other Korean airline companies RARELY hires a foreigner for their attendant department. Specially being an African-American who looks completely different from being native.

I not trying to be rude, I'm sure you're aware that modern Koreans are somewhat "nice" now towards foreigners (particularly towards tourists), but this mostly happens with Korean people living in big cities. And hard thing is, the industry you're thinking of applying for is customer service industry where you will have to deal not just with people from big cities but also with people from small towns who might tend to be xenophobic towards foreigners.

That aside, again, you're entering customer service industry towards people who judges that what you are serving is the same as the yourself (if the server doesn't look good for customers, the service also isn't good which is a bad reputation for the company). Blacks doesn't have a good image to the Korean natives (I hope this does not offend you, but this is truth). Any type of customer service for Koreans is just not the right job for any foreigners (specially to those who look completely different). Actually, working to any kind of industry for a foreigner isn't a good idea as the government and companies prioritizes locals, and people are not welcoming for immigrants (only tourists).

I hope you're not serious with this... I mean, even with American flights of Korean Air, I haven't seen a black attendant yet (well, on their advertisement, I did, but in reality? No). There's only like one or two white attendants and the rest are Koreans. I think they've also hired few Chinese and Japanese for China and Japan flights but very rare with whites (and no to blacks).

PS., they are most-likely to hire a foreigner only if they don't have a competitive person to speak in a certain language. Pretty sure your native is English and there are many Koreans who are capable to speak in that language, and Korea have more unemployed people, so why hire a foreigner who don't fit the industry?

Flight Attendant jobs in Korea is the same line-up as Miss Korea (or any pageant). So you're like saying "I'm a black and I love Korea, I don't speak Korean, so do I have chances to become Miss/Mister Korea because I simply love the country?"

You might think that my sample is far, but it's close for Korean people. Flight attendants represents a certain country and it's service on air. Like how Miss Korea represents Korean flag to the world.

PS. Beauty is important. When I say beauty, it means Korean's perspective.

They do accept males, but I would suggest working for an English-speaking based airline company. I doubt a Korean-based airline company would hire you regardless of your fluency in Korean language solely because there can still be slip-ups with a native speaker so they would not like to take the chance of hiring a foreigner. However, you could work for an English-speaking based airline company and use your language skills if making a flight to or from Korea.
