I was watching some Korean shows and they put something they called MSG into the food. I know MSG is bad for you because I've heard of it before. But is that common in Korea? To put MSG powder or seasoning in the food?

Yes, without it, they think the food will taste bland. However, alot of Korean restaurant nowadays try and avoid it and put other ingredients to make their food tasty without msg.
FYI there's msg in Cheetos and other American snacks.

They put MSG in to make it taste good. It is common in junk food like ramen. So yes, it is common to put in, mostly in junk foods.

it is used to make food taste good and not taste blend. A lot of restaurant put it in like Chinese, Korean, etc. but they don't in homemade because it's bad for you.
Restaurant's purpose is for you to like the food regardless if it's healthy or not like McDonald, while Homemade stuff cares about you.
