I've watched so many Korean dramas to the point where the sound of the language became stuck in my head and I began hearing things. I even learned a good amount of basic words; hello, yes,no,why, what, understand,I love you, sorry, hey, wait, and some numbers. The alphabet is difficult and complex but I think I can manage. It will be hard to teach myself and I don't have any Korean friends. I wish I did becuz I love Korea.

Like you said you learnt a couple of phrases. Thats it. You have to actually learn Korean and it would be best if you lived there to talk and interact with others.

However most Koreans will never treat you as they treat their Korean friends because of these things:

1. You dont speak, read or talk Korean or fluent enough.

2. You dont know the different ways to respect people and be polite in Korea.

3. You dont know how to understand Korean meanings and jokes like for example 4 minutes song 물 좋아? If you translate that directly to English it would be "Do you like water?" but it is "Is it poppin?" in English. This will be very hard to learn and honestly I dont think you can learn all those "secret meanings" ever.

4. You dont look Korean and believe it or not, first impression is really important and also in job interviews. If they see you are a foreigner you might not get a job bcuz of that.

5. If you are especially from another country in Asia they will look down at you.

You'll pick up words, some phrases, and random nouns (things like that).

You won't get a grasp of the grammar, or the structure of the sentences.

Depending on what shows you watch, you will get to hear 'real korean' and not 'textbook korean'

Not really. You might be able to pick up vocabulary and phrases, but you need to have interaction with another speaker of the language to learn it.

One of the things my ESOL teacher told me to do to learn English was watch TV a lot.
